Abilene's soil is mostly expansive clay, which expands when wet and contracts when dry. This movement shifts fence posts, causing them to lean or become loose. Over time, erosion around the post base makes the problem worse.

Look for leaning posts, cracks in the concrete around the base, or a gap between the post and the ground. You might also notice the fence sagging or gates that no longer close properly.

We assess the cause, then either re-set the post with proper drainage and gravel, replace rotted sections, or install a weatherproof barrier. For new installations, we use techniques that minimize soil movement impact, like deeper footings and corrosion-resistant materials.
