Then we apply multiple coats of exterior-grade powder coating. For the posts, we use a concrete mix that handles our expansive clay soil—with a bell-bottom pour or rebar cage—so the fence doesn't heave during our freeze-thaw cycles. We also design the bottom rails to have an inch or two of ground clearance to prevent moisture wicking. This is the standard approach we use for homes in the Quail Creek and Deer Creek areas.
