The main cause is the local clay soil, which expands and contracts with moisture changes. Over time, this movement loosens the soil around fence posts, leading to erosion and instability. Heavy rains common to our area can also wash away soil, leaving posts vulnerable to rot and leaning.

Look for panels that wobble when pushed, visible gaps between panels or between the panel and post, sagging sections, or nails that have popped out. If your gate doesn't latch properly or drags on the ground, that's another common sign of loose panels.

We first inspect the entire fence to identify loose panels and eroded posts. For loose panels, we tighten or replace hardware, re-nail or screw them securely to the posts. If post erosion is the root cause, we reinforce or replace the post with concrete to ensure a solid foundation. Finally, we offer exterior staining to protect the wood from future weather damage and restore its appearance.
