The primary cause is that standard fence posts are often set too shallow for our strong winds. Over time, wind pressure stresses the rails and pickets, causing nails to pop and sections to sag. We recommend setting posts at least two feet deep in concrete and using screws rather than nails for a more secure hold that resists lift.

Gate alignment issues usually show as a visible sag, a gap at the top or bottom, or difficulty latching. This often results from a bent hinge, a loose post, or a gate frame that has twisted in the wind. The solution is to inspect the hinges and post footing first. We can replace heavy-duty gate hinges and reset the post if needed to restore proper swing and closure.

For storm-damaged fences in that area, we start by removing broken or warped sections. Then we install new posts in deep concrete footings and attach weather-resistant panels. If the issue is isolated to a gate, we replace the gate frame and use reinforced hinges. We also recommend checking the entire fence line for hidden stress points to prevent future failures.
