The main cause is soil movement from our region's clay-rich soil. When moisture levels change, the clay expands and contracts, shifting fence posts out of alignment. Over time, this weakens the post's grip. Eli addresses this by repacking the post hole with proper backfill material and, if needed, welding a metal bracket for added stability. Our metal fabrication can also replace rotted wood posts with steel posts that resist movement better.

A sagging gate often shows uneven gaps at the top or bottom, or it drags on the ground. First, check the hinges: if they are bent, loose, or broken, that's the culprit. If the gate post itself is leaning or the ground around it is cracked, the post has likely shifted due to soil movement.
