The primary cause is inadequate anchoring. Many standard fences use posts set too shallow or in loose soil, which can't withstand the high gusts common in the Truckee Meadows. Frontier Fense solves this by setting posts deeper—at least 24 inches—and using concrete footings, plus heavy-duty brackets and tension wires for added stability.

Look for leaning posts, loose or missing panels, and gaps where the fence meets the ground. Also, check for rusted or corroded hardware. If your fence wobbles when you push it, or if you've noticed it shifting after a storm, it's a sign the structure needs reinforcement.
