Wood fence warping is primarily caused by our intense heat and humidity, which makes the wood expand and contract unevenly. Excessive moisture from rain or sprinklers then dries rapidly in the sun. To fix warped boards, we replace or re-secure panels with proper spacing and use pressure-treated wood or heat-resistant composites. We also check the fence line for drainage issues to prevent future warping.

Look for rusted hinges, sagging gates that drag on the ground, or screws that have popped out due to wood shrinkage. Hardware failures are common when metal components aren’t rated for outdoor use—more so in humid Spring weather. If your fence posts seem loose or the gate won’t latch, that’s a clear sign the hardware needs an upgrade.

We replace all worn hardware with stainless steel or galvanized options that resist rust from moisture. We also use self-tapping screws and reinforced brackets to handle wood movement. For gates, we install heavy-duty hinges and adjustable latches that can be tightened over time, keeping them aligned through temperature swings.
