That waviness is usually caused by thermal expansion. In Mesa, the heat can cause metal panels to expand by a quarter-inch or more. If a fence is built with rigid, straight panels, they have nowhere to go but buckle or pull away. Our metal rolling service can pre-curve or ‘camber’ the panels to match the expected expansion. For existing fences, we can roll the panels to relieve stress and reinstall them with expansion gaps, so they move with the temperature without damaging the structure.

That’s called ‘chalking’ or oxidation, and it’s accelerated by Mesa’s intense UV exposure. The sun breaks down the paint or powder coating, leaving a powdery residue. Yes, sandblasting is the most effective way to remove it. We carefully blast the surface down to bare metal, removing all old paint, rust, and oxidation. Then we apply a high-quality, UV-resistant primer and paint. This gives you a like-new finish that won’t chalk up again for years.

If your gate is sagging at the hinges or dragging on the ground, the issue is often hinge fatigue or a bent frame from thermal stress. A simple adjustment won’t hold. We’ll first sandblast the gate to remove any rust or old paint. Then, using our metal fabrication skills, we can reinforce the hinge area with a thicker plate or replace the hinge brackets entirely. We’ll also check the frame for any warping and straighten it. Finally, we repaint with a heat-reflective coating. That fixes the sag and prevents it from coming back.
