Frequently Asked Questions
My gate keeps sagging after high winds. What's causing this, and how can you fix it?
Sagging is usually a sign that the hinges are pulling loose from the post, or the gate frame itself is twisting under wind stress. Medina Welding can reinforce the frame with thicker metal tubing, install heavier-duty hinges, and add a diagonal brace to prevent twisting. We'll also check the post depth and concrete footing to make sure the gate stays square for years.
The paint on my fence is peeling and rust spots are showing. Should I repaint or replace the panels?
Peeling paint and surface rust often mean the original coating wasn't meant for our sunny, dry climate. If the metal isn't rusted through, we can sand, treat the rust, and apply a high-quality outdoor paint or stain designed for metal fences. For severely corroded sections, we'll replace those panels and make sure the new ones are properly primed and sealed before painting.
My automatic gate won't open or close smoothly anymore. Is it a motor problem or something else?
It could be either. We often find the gate itself is binding because the hinges have shifted or the track is dirty or bent. First, we'll inspect the gate's alignment and make adjustments. If the motor is struggling, we may need to replace worn gears or the control board. We service all major automatic gate brands and can get your system working reliably again.
