This movement can loosen the soil around standard shallow-set posts. Additionally, strong winds common along the Missouri River valley put extra force on fence panels, accelerating the shifting.

Look for signs like gaps between fence boards, sagging gate hinges, or cracks in concrete post footings. If you notice the top rail is no longer level, or if the fence wobbles when you push on it, these are clear indicators that the posts are losing their grip in the soil. Early detection can prevent a full collapse during a storm.

We recommend a combination of concrete footings and deep-set posts.
