Western Fence Company, established in 1948 by John McLaughlan and his wife Mildred, has been a trusted name in fencing for over seven decades. Originally starting with help from Scotty and their sons Jerry and Buzz, the family moved the business to 1300 South and 200 West in 1954. In 1996, the third generation—Jerry (J.R.) McLaughlan, Steve McLaughlan, and Laura Nelson—took ownership and relocated to 1735 S. 900 W. The company expanded in 2009 by launching a manufacturing division, purchasing Bergandi machines to produce their own chain link and barb wire. They opened a new facility in June 2010 and continue to grow, with plans to expand into Davis County. Serving both residential and commercial clients in Salt Lake City and Hurricane, UT, Western Fence offers complete fence and gate installation, repair, painting, staining, and weatherproofing. They work with materials like chain link, wood, ornamental iron, and custom fabrication, and also provide gate automation.
