Most fence post problems in Orlando come from two things: sandy, loose soil that doesn't hold the post firmly, and moisture rot at the base. When heavy winds push against the fence, a posts with rotted wood or a shallow set gives way. It’s common in older fences where the posts were set without concrete or a proper gravel base.

If the gate is sagging and the screw holes are stripped or the wood around the hinges is cracked or rotted, a simple screw swap won’t hold. That’s a carpenter job.
